Butternut
Butternut Mountain offers skiing, snowboarding cross-country and tubing for winter sports enthusiasts of all ages. There is a ski school and rental shop and 22 downhill ski trails. Catamount
Located on the New York, Massachusetts border, the Catamount Ski Area is home to the Catapult trail, the steepest run in the Berkshires, as well as Ridge Run to Upper and Lower Promenade – 2.5 miles, the longest run in the Berkshires! In total there are 32 trails of differing levels and lengths to explore. There is a ski school for beginners and a variety of special ski packages. Mt Snow
Just an hour away from Topia Inn, in southern Vermont, is Mt. Snow. Mount Snow is in the Green Mountain National Forest and operates under a special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service. It offers, skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snow mobile tours and snowshoeing. Mt. Snow has 80 trails for every level.
Bromley
Known as “Vermont’s Sun Mountain” Bromley is a family-friendly ski resort just an hour and a half north of Topia Inn. With over 40 trails and 3 terrain parks (for different levels) there is something for everyone.
CROSS COUNTRY and SNOW SHOEING
Walk out the door at Topia Inn and and get onto the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail that goes 11 miles on a wonderful journey from the town of Adams to just beyond the two large lakes of Cheshire.

Mt Greylock State Reservation can be accesses by car just 5 minutes from the inn. It offers snowshoeing and back-country skiing (both groomed and un-groomed trails) dog sledding, snowmobiling 413-499-4262
